GWC celebrates Earth Day with volunteer willow planting!
The Gallatin Watershed Council celebrated Earth Day by safely planting 4,000 willows alongside the East Gallatin on Wednesday! With the help of a handful of wonderful community volunteers, we were able to enhance the riparian corridor and floodplain capacity of two vulnerable stream banks on a private landowner's property.

The Gallatin Watershed Council will be one of the many great causes participating in Give Big Gallatin Valley on April 30 - May 1. This is an opportunity for the Bozeman community to come together and support the work of local nonprofits.

These uncertain times remind us of Bozeman’s strength and resiliency, a community that GWC is lucky to call home. Although we can’t physically come together to confront coronavirus, we can still organize and build community, together.

Montana DEQ Names Lower Gallatin Watershed As Priority Basin
The Montana Department of Environmental Quality announced Thursday that the Lower Gallatin Watershed is its next priority basin. This means hundreds of thousands of dollars will become available to address pollution in over half of the watershed’s major streams and rivers.
Fifteen Years of Stewardship
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Gallatin Watershed Council. The Board would like to thank all of the many caring and dedicated folks who have supported us over the years. A special thanks goes out to those that accepted the challenge fifteen years ago and decided to advocate for clean water in the Gallatin Valley and form a watershed group.
